Dear fellow IWC enthusiasts,
First time post but unfortuantely not a happy one........ I have recently sent in my Le Petit Prince Big Pilot IW500916 to Richemont Sydney to have it regulated, as the watch was running rather fast since new and still under warranty (13-15 sec per day against online refernece time).
So the long story short, my Big Pilot was returned to me several weeks later and according to Richemont Sydney the watch wasn't opend nor regulated. However, when I picked up the watch, to my dismay I found the facotry case back sticker which I have kept on the watch since new was missing, furthermore, the Le Petit Prince case back emblem was all scratched up, looking more like Le Petit Prince Edition Scarface!
First Richemont Sydney tried to get me to agree to polishing the damaged case back, but after many emails going back and forth, Richemont Sydney is offering to have the case back re-created by IWC Shaffhausen. To the best of my knowledge IWC factory service will not polish or re-finish case backs, also I am under the impression that watch manufacturers usually do not re-create case back with the same serial #, as each case backs should be indivual and uniqe, or am I mis-informed?
Has any fellow members had the experinece of having their IWC watch case backs with the same serial # re-created by IWC Shaffhausen? Or what are my other otpions here? Would a new case swap be a better option?
Many thanks in advance from inputs of experinced IWC ownerships!
