    Hello,

I am a german collector of vintage watches and found an old (1942?) IWC with
    Beyer Zurich co-branding on dial.

It has a diameter of well over 30mm (measured 30.3mm) and surely a lot of
    patina.

The movement should be something out of the Cal. 60/61 series and has a serial
    of 10521xx

I contacted Beyer and they confirmed, that an IWC with that serial and case
    number was sold by them.

My question: Are there more informations about this model?

If I made my homework correctly, it is a hermet(ic) case and Anti-Magnet
    should mean Antimagnetic.

I saw at least two different IWC brand logos in that time, International Watch
Company Schaffhausen and my logo. Is there a date of change of the old logo to
    a newer logo/writing?

    Thanks in advance!

    HI KP99,

    Nice watch you found.

It is a Calibre 61 made in 1942. Cal 61 was the first wrist watch movement
with central second made by IWC. The total production of this caliber was 7800
pcs, quite a rare one. The Cal. 61 movement had quite some issues and was
followed soon by its successor Cal. 60. in 1943.

The oval IWC logo was disappearing in mid to late 1940's i think.

The cases signed "Hermet" are made to be especially sealed from dust.

The hands of your watch should have a luminous fill.

    Many thanks, Cromagnonman!!

Will think about a good reluming of the hands and a service of the movement
but will keep all the other components as they are.

Will wear it as I have a small to mid size wrist.

    Thanks again!
