I have set my minute repeater this morning, and for some reason the chimes are circa 30 minutes out from the actual time. What do I need to do to sync the two? I seem to have mislaid my instruction manual.

Thanks in advance for your help

The time in a Minute Repeater should never be turned backwards as this could lead to a mechanical failure. Time setting always and only forward.
I'm not aware that a sinc is possible by the owner itself. Might be that you need the help from the IWC Service Team.

Are you lucky that you and I have a dealer near your doorstep in Victoria Place, but I suspect this is going to take time as this model will go back to the factory for all service and repair issues.

I'd wait a day to see if it corrects itself. If not, I'm afraid it's time for a hospital visit.

By the way, in addition toi STZ's excellent advice I assume you know that there also should be no setting while the watch chimes.

Thank you all for your sound (no pun intended) advice, looks like a trip to the service centre it is, as the watch has the same problem this morning :(

Assuming you took it in for service at IWC, would you be willing to disclose the cost of the service for the minute repeater at IWC?

Just to comment, I adjust time in both directions (forward & backward) on my 5240 without any problem (of course not while it chimes!).
Although the issue which is described here may simply be the effect of some wheels whose dents are misaligned, it should indeed go back to Schaffhausen. The cost of a complete overhaul of a minute repeater is in the vicinity of a handful of ‘000 EUR... more than a lot of watches on the market, but when you love it that does not matter...
