While the new decade arrived on New Year's Day, my DaVinci Perpetual Calendar Edition Kurt Klaus was away having a perpetual calendar service. Just a minor issue that I noticed for a while - the calendar was advancing around 9:30PM - and now is corrected to switch at midnight.

As an added bonus, my watch was polished and came back looking like new.

I was always, and still am a "round case" fan - I know many others here are not quite as fond of the creative tonneau case shape of the DaVincis that were introduced in 2007. This watch, however has been my favorite IWC for a while now - so it's great to have back.

When I look at the top photo... which shows the polished "negative curves" against the bulging, satin sides of the case - and complex lug profile - I can't help but think about a popular sports car - especially when I see the sloping, flared shape of the bezel....

    Great watch in great shape

Thank you for showing , Richard. Of the Da vinci's I always thought the Perpetual Calendar looks best. I really appreciate you showing the side in combination with the bottom, this really reveals some very interesting and beautiful details. I once saw how the outer case was put together with the inner case - until then I didn't know about this construction - and I was impressed: this whole case is a construction marvel, shown very nice in your pictures.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Pilot's watch
