Given that SIHH launches on next Monday, I thought I’d tell you a little about the coverage here and on the IWC website. As you’ve seen, in the past year and a half the website has been expanded greatly, and there have been many more Internet initiatives, including Facebook, a Blog, etc. This means also that SIHH now will be given significantly more coverage.
I believe the coverage might start this Friday with some teasers, including a brief article I wrote about IWC pilot’s watches. Then the full coverage will begin on Monday, 16 January. There will be a team of “point people” each day at SIHH, including me. You’ll see of course images and details of all the novelties then, plus on each day there should be several Blog articles. There also will be photographers there, and I’ll take some candid shots.
I plan on writing daily reports which will be published on the Blog. Each day has different events and the coverage will be different –what’s occurring then, short interviews, etc. These then should be linked to other places, including this forum and possibly Facebook.
There may be some times when I won’t be available –I literally have plans and appointments from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. each day. The one day when I won’t have much free time at all is the Collectors’ Day on Thursday the 19th, when invitees from this Forum will be visiting.
The bottom line is that there will be significantly expanded SIHH coverage in several places on this website, starting Monday. Check in regularly and often the Blog will be the focal point of reports, for which discussion then can occur here on the Forum.
I also really believe that you’ll like everything –the new models, the events, etc. This year will even top prior years. Soon.
