Hmmm, then a CF3 Big Pilot edition, released in 2013, should fit within this rule ?

A BP CF3 - I think that would be very cool.

Shing - I second, third and fourth that one. A BP CF3 I would definitely buy, even in the year of the Ingenieur, and even if I have decided to not buy another watch until THE ONE is within reach - I would break that promise for a BP CF3 :-)

At this point I don't expect anything with respect to a CF3.

The 40mm stainless steel looks fantastic. Great for the slimmer-wristed among us. I, for one, can't wait to try it on.

I am thrilled to see the 40 mm ing as well as the return of the iron cage (which I believe is what makes an Ingenieur an Ingenieur). I love my 3227 but I think for the new Ing would be a wonderful introduction to IWC for the next generation of IWC enthusiasts.

    Shing,
While I would be all over a CF3 BP I would think that the price point would eliminate a larger group of collectors. If I remember from the last poll, we were looking in 8k-10k US and currently the BP is more then 40% higher then the target price. But, if that were the decision, I'm on board.

This one would do it for me...not the most classic one, but one should always have at least one black watch...told my wife that :))

Do we know the diameter for this one? Really do love the sharp, almost "tactical" look of this one. Maybe a slate gray dial could transform it into the CFI watch?

It seems to be 46 mm.

    Kind regards,

I like the new black dial one, i like the size, i like the design, i just dont like the ETA movement, no mater how good it isd and that it is made by eta to IWC specs and fitted, regulated by IWC, i think it is a shame, and i dont think the price will be that low as to justifie not fitting an in house movement

I bought my 3227 because it was not in ETA
I bought my Rolex 1680 because it was not an ETA
I bought My Yacht Club because it was not an ETA
I bought My Zenith Defy because it was not an ETA

I dont think i will buy one of these because of that reason, no mate how much i like the design, it is just a step away from what i want from the manufacturer i want at the price they will charge.

    Hi Andy,

This statement is so strong, that it seems you really have to convince yourself NOT to buy one, so much you seem to like it for all the other reasons. Now, if you need to buy a watch, there are plenty of other ones, like that black ceramic F1. Oh, ouch, that has no antimagnetic cage, so it is no Ingenieur. Luckily you already have a nice bunch of watches, no need to spend maybe too much money on yet another watch. And it's only watches, no life threatening issues here.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

I just feel it is not right with the ETA particauly as it coud be made with an in house movement.

Thanks for posting, Shing. An exciting line up in my opinion. Evolutionary rather than revolutionary. As a recent buyer of ceramic, I would consider a ceramic Ingenieur.
