Makes the current Mission Earth a good proposition!

    @ Kevin or Andrew

Any clue whether a Laureus Inge is in the works next year?

I was pleased to see a return to a soft iron cage. Although I have a VC Inge and love it, I agree with Antonio that an Ingenieur truly sustains its pedigree by being antimagnetic. Thanks, Shing for this preview...it looks like our collectors are going to have a wonderful SIHH if this "first glimpse" is any indication!

Trying to better explain. "Junior Line" doesn't meant to be diminishing, it simply easily recalls the case dimension and the entry level target.

    Another consideration.

This one could be a good choice for CFIII - imo.

    Maybe a little repetitive?

I think it is wrong to pick this model for a CF3 Rob.

What a great way to start my Friday - a preview of IWC's new Ingenieurs. Overall they look great. I really like the idea of a slimmer, 40mm Ingenieur which makes the SS models more evocative of the Genta series and easier to wear. And the bracelet looks terrific. The ceramic models, which I assume will feature the cal. 80110 and be about 44 mm (like the Mission Earth), also look fantastic and have a great functional look to them. Can't wait to try these on.

    Great job IWC.

I don't know if the Ingenieur line is really my thing but a few of those look really good. Nice to see a smaller version making an appearance.

    I suddenly have a thought...

Assuming the new chrono will be of the same lug size as the current one...

does that mean in the not-so-distant future, existing chrono owners will have a lot of straps to choose from/replace?

    hrmm... hrmm... hrmmm... hrmm.. hrmmm...

    That's one possibility Kelvin.

A second I am hopeful for --- is the deployant clasp for the rubber strap.

And these today 1 Dec 2012 from a web source...
the Ingenieur Chronograph Racer, which debuts in four variants. All four are 45x15mm and powered by the IWC in-house automatic flyback chronograph calibre 89361

Is this the catalyst for the Ingenieur family to become a major successful sub family of the IWC collection in 2013 ?

Why, Argiris? I think the idea is quite viable. Not too long ago the Mark XVII got a lot of support as a possible CFW3. This black dial Ingenieur (my favourite of the three right now) is very similar to the Mark XVII: not too big and thick, not too expensive, great 30110 movement, antimagnetic cage, more than enough water resistance, nice bracelet, short: a very practical all purpose watch, both sporty and fairly dressy. I would support that idea, would welcome it, even if the size is a bit smaller than desired.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

And an idea for the CFIII: remove the crown-guards, that would give it a nice CF touch... what do you think? Maybe a brown dial as well?

    Hi Martijn,

I would like to keep the crown guards. Removing them, changing the model, is not viable anyway I presume: only colour changes etc. are possible. That brown dial like on the ceramic, would be great.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

For any CFIII, keep in mind that IWC has a rule that there are no special editions of novelties in the year the novelties are introduced. I'm sure somewhere that rule has been broken, but I can pretty much assure you that an Ingenieur CF3 based on a 2013 model won't be introduced until 2014.

    I'm too impatient for that.

Hmmm, then a CF3 Big Pilot edition, released in 2013, should fit within this rule ?

A BP CF3 - I think that would be very cool.
