if I'm not mistaken. Cate Blanchett, Kevin Spacey, Eric Dane, Matthew Fox and Boris Becker have all been spotted in the small town of Portofino on a shoot for an IWC campaign. I guess the results will be shown here by the end of the year when the new Portofino line will be anounced. Looking forward already....

    Some remarkable points

They don't show any watches: some sessions, photo shoots, must be very secret. And the celebreties of IWC are not really young, is that because the target group of IWC isn't young either?

Agree, she shows some inside beauty too

In that respect quite fitting to IWC watches.

    Assuming these are the new

Portofinos on Danes' and Fox's wrists I can only say that they look considerably bigger in size than the current models.

The higher profile the celebs ...

... the greater the risk to security. It seems a little early to be photographing a shoot for a January 2011 launch. I wouldn't criticise Schaffhausen for forward planning. Do you think they could be using the IWC iphone app?

What's the speculation regarding the movements?

The bigger size should make it possible to use 98000 calibre movement. or maybe a Piaget sourced movement.
I guess 50000- and 80000 caliber families are too thick for this type of watch.

Why should we care about what celebrities wear?...

Especially when they are being paid to do it? I find this strategy counterproductive, much as admire Ms Blanchett's, Mr Spacey and Mr Figo's talents in their respective crafts.

If their watches are the new models...

then it is quite interesting. Is Cate Blanchet wearing a new rose gold Portofino? Quit nice, but is this a watch for women from now on? It doesn't look that big, so everything is possible. It is nice to see this watch months before an official launch, that is a first as far as I remember.

2011 : year of the Portofino. It's good news

for those, like me, who find this line is going nowhere and not in phase with the first Portofino. It deserves more, with this attractive name.
