To celebrate the 150th birthday of IWC, the brand will come with some new models for 2018.
The first to be revealed is this great piece, the tribute to Pallweber.
Here are some pics from the net, more info to follow.
45mm in diameter, new IWC caliber 94200, 60h power reserve, limited to 250 pcs.

Its a great tribute to Pallweber even though I know some people will not like the hours and minutes indication, but for me especially this is pure history.

I have seen also the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Edition “150 Years” in 18K red gold and this is a stunner!!!

Oh, that is sublime. So beautiful. Want!

PS - Red gold? Will yellow gold ever make a return?

I think it is absolutely brilliant and audacious. A stunning beauty with a deep bow to the past. The movement looks great too. This is a true gift to the IWC watch community.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

I have wanted IWC to create a Pallweber wristwatch for years! I'm sorry to see it in RG rather than SS, but perhaps a SS case edition may come later?

Is there any information on expected pricing?

It's great watch, but as usual better to see it in flesh than on photo. Looks nice on the wrist!

Not my cup of tea but very nice! I wonder when the most "leakage"-es from the SIHH material will follow... :)

It's very retro and special style. Innovation from the past transcripted in today's era. Really handsome!

Would have liked to see the dial with a little more flair.

Greg, I agree. That would have been even cooler.
But the IWC logo is not compliant with today's standards - unfortunately. :-)

You are right. The dial design of the gold "Tribute to Pallweber" is too understated, no pizazz at all.
But what 'kills' it, is the modern IWC logo. Not using the old cursive script is particularly egregious, especially in a watch commemorating the 150th anniversary, IMHO.
On the positive side, the caliber 94200 is an excellent new movement, which I hope IWC will use in later versions, with different dial design and the old script.
Hope springs eternal, but is not a plan. ;-)
