Welcome to the forum and congrats. on that new Spitfire. The steel bracelet is an excellent choice with the new micro adjustment. My MK XVI with steel brecelet is very comfortable in any climate.

Hi Guys,
Is this watch available yet in the UK and if yes what is the retail price?
I cannot seem to find any stockists at the moment!
It sure is a stunner :)
Congratulations, a beautiful watch.
I believe that one on a strap will be in my future.

Hi KS. Nice to meet a fellow Singaporean. I'll contact you. :)
Welcome to the forum! You picked my favorite of the 2012 novelties to start your IWC collection! Wear it in good health!
Swapped out the bracelet for the original leather strap.
Very nice, congratulations and enjoy.
Thanks for posting.

Congratulations! Very nice piece!
very nice indeed. the strap and watch goes so well together!
That is a beautiful dial. A couple of the photos here show it off much better than the IWC website where it looks a bit washed out.
Hi I'm new to the forum but I'm considering my first IWC watch and need some advice!!
I'm a little bored with my Rolex and omega watches and I've been considering getting the 3878-04 spitfire which is now discountiued now but I've got the chance to buy one new and a really good discount!!
I've heard the stories regarding the movement but that seems like a few years ago and I feel confident with the movement now days!!
Does the 3878 wear the same as the 3777?
I love the dial but it's not the same on the new 2016 models.
What do you guys think of my dilemma
Cheers
Andy
Welcome Andy!
I'm biased of course since I've got a Spitfire 387802/04 since 2013... Just tried on the successor 377719 a few weeks back.
On your first question - they wears the same.
From an aesthetic point of view:
- first the bracelets are slightly different, not a major thing to me, both look very good and the quality is just outstanding.
- The big thing is the dial. I would say the 3878 dial provides a much higher appearance quality, especially the applied numerals makes a huge difference - very elegant together with the ardoise sunday dial.
Just my two cents.

Well thanks for all your good advice I'm finally going to pick one up on steel strap and add a leather at a later date...You can get some good deals now the 3878 has been discontinued...
Love this forum
I love the 3878. Have had it for two years now on the brown leather strap, but I have been thinking about getting the bracelet as well.
All in all it is a great daily driver. Not too flashy, but still wonderfully present to the right eyes.
Regarding the movement. I haven't had any problems at all. It just works.
Lovely pictures of the 3878 would love to get the brown strap but will have to wait a while as this watch was a big purchase!! Will load pictures soon...
