    Dear friends,

I have had the great misfortune of having 10 of my best watches stolen during a break-in while we were sleeping.

I have lost the following IWC watches which I kindly ask all of you to look out for:

Ingenieur Collector's Forum, #64 "Jens Christian Bang"
Mark XV Spitfire "Battle of Britain", 0986/1000
    Aquatimer Cousteau Divers, 1025/1953
Pilot Chronograph St. Exupery SS, 0717/1630
    Portuguese Rattrapante Ref 3712, SS, s/n 2670700
    Pilot Chronograph SS, Ref 3706, s/n 2716956

The theft happened in Rome so if anyone has any knowledge of shops in Rome or perhaps Naples which sells used watches then pls write to me on jcbang@mac.com. As I had no insurance this is my only hope. I also lost a significant amount of Montblanc and Cartier pens but I won't bore you with the details.

If anyone has any other advice then pls let me know. I have received from IWC the claim form for stolen watches so if anyone tries to service a watch with IWC then presumably I will find out. I would like to know if any of the major auction houses has a similar list. Does anybody know?

Best regards from a rather distressed former IWC owner.

    JCBang

    Stolen watches

    Sorry to hear Jens.
Is it possible that I saw the Spitfire on ebay a few days ago.The ad was canceled at some point. I am not sure but I do remeber that I was surprised about the high number/1000.
I will try to find it again.
    Hope you can recover some.

    My sincere condolances. Very sad...

Now I appreciate the amount I pay in insurance and for a safe.

    Thanks Bill.
You are right about the insurance. But don't trust the safe. My 100kg safe was hauled out into my Audi A6 Avant (which also disappeared).

    Best regards

    Terrible news

One can only hope you get them back and the perpetrators caught.

I wish you the best of luck in having the watches found and returned.

    This is very bad news

I guess this is the fear of all of us, I feel sorry for you and your loss. Only people who know about watches are prepared to pay a decent amout of money for them, so hopefully the attempt of a sale may turn them up. Good luck!

    Kind regards,
    Paul
