Quite some discussions about straps... I don't know about you, but I am always finding myself between holes, to be precise, buckle holes. Do you have those sort of annoying watch drama's on a daily basis, either too loose or a tad too tight! Why can't I ever find a hole in the right place. On all the IWC's I've owned over the years, Big Pilots, or Portuguese, the holes are always one way or other. I must be the unluckiest man ever to have half a size away from any watch strap. The big thick Big Pilot Strap is unforgiving and the nice sexy blue leather strap on my previous Portuguese 7 days looked a tad tired after a few weeks. I hate stretching the holes, but this effectively is what happens. The Portuguese is a tad heavy on such a fine strap. With my latest child, the Blue Dialled Portuguese Perpetual, I've have a hand made strap attached. It's fabulous in dark brown but guess what, yes, I'm between holes again!... I could scream. I long for the day that someone has one of those perpectual clasps, so you can just snap the thing closed in exactly the right spot for your wrist. Am I mad (please be moderatley kind) or is this something we all suffer with. We are wonderfully busy with the mantlepiece, but let us not forget the fire.
I wait to hear with interest.
