We've all seen loads of pictures of the beautiful faces of IWC's that adorn our wrists. But how often does anyone see the reverse? Does anyone even notice?
Just for fun, here's a contest for you with a fine IWC prize: this brand new never worn stealthy black IWC cap in a stealthy carrying bag.
The Contest
I have posted below 10 pictures of the reverse side of IWC watches cleverly numbered 1 to 10. Your task is to identify the correct base Reference Number for each.
To enter the contest, simply do the following:
In response to this post, post a photo of the reverse of any IWC watch you own or wish you owned.
Identify the correct reference number for each picture and email your list of answers to whichwatch at roadrunner dot com prior to Wednesday August 29 at 9am New York time. Do not post your answers here – we don't want to spoil the challenge for others. I am after the reference number not the name, so for example a correct answer would be “3227”, not “Ingenieur”.
Each day I will post the scores of entrants received to that point so you can see how you did relative to others.
Contest closes Wednesday August 29 at 9am New York time at which time I will draw a winner at random from all entries.
A couple of tips:
No rear covers have been removed. If you see a movement, the watch has a display back.
Look carefully. Some reverses are similar but have small differences or other clues to the proper identity.
and one big hint:
- if you're stuck, steer yourself downstairs. The basement is often a good place to find the answer.
Let the games begin!
