@ David, that is a magnificent movement behind that handsome sapphire case back!

Mark - it's a beauty. I think that movement is perfect for the watch -- nicely decorated but not overly fussy. Completely appropriate for a diver. I wouldn't say that an exhibition back is a must but it's certainly high on my list of priorities.
I have done some more research, still can't find watch #3 though :)
Will dig a little deeper and send the updated list in an hour or so Dick.
In the mean time, the watch that will become my first IWC:
Waimar, that is indeed a GREAT first IWC.....
Thank you for a perfect idea Dick! I'm in! It's the watch I'd like to get as my next:
Or how about this - custom engraving to the highest detail realized by IWC in Schaffhausen.
Mark,
I hope that is the "2" and not the back of the wall clock!
Alan, you may relax. That engraving is all inside a 17mm inner circle on the back of my AT Ref. 3548 which of course looks like this on the front side.
Thanks! Have been at several AD's now to have a "test wear". They all said the 3717 would still be available throughout 2012 but can't seem to find a new one in the Netherlands. Tried the 3777 in Schaffhausen which made me doubt, but still think I will eventually pull the trigger on the 3717. The dial is just a bit more balanced I think.
Now that is very very cool! I used to dive a lot with my brother, unfortunately we both don't have time anymore. Might start doing it again, only to justify owning a watch like that! :)
yikes, why do i always leave it till the last minute?
here's the back of a watch high-up on my wish-list:
now time to embarrass myself with the rest of the contest!

Shing,
The PSS is my sons favorite. He's crazy about it.
Rates it the best watch ever.
Hmmmm, lots of work to do.
