Need opinions on this. I picked up a Taubert & Fils cased Cal.83 vintage piece
the other day. (sterile ATP style dial). Its at the watchmakers for a service
but have a question about the case.

The serial number on the backcase _appears _similar in style and format to
be a IWC case numbers (I have a 1939 model) and the date corresponding to the
number seems to correctly date the style of the watch and calibre used to
approx 1939 - 1943. The thing is Francis Borgel cases stopped being used at
IWC by the late 1920s according to my rough research. Does anyone own or has
seen a Taubert & Fil cased IWC from around this period?

Now that the extract from archive service appears to have stopped, is there
another way to find out whether the case is an authentic IWC issued item?

    Any information
    appreciated.
