Nice test pictures Tilo :o)
one more
Hi Tilo,
Love the Pilot chronograph! I'm curious...it looks like a reference 3706 with
tritium markers, but the dial shows no "T" next to "Swiss Made." Can you
explain?
Edit: I think I figured it out. Is that a reference 3777-24? That would
explain it!
What a magnificent old timer!
from what year is this Smith & Wesson?
Exactly it's the tribute to 3706 which is in fact a 3777 with Superluminova
with vintage Patina look , not Tritium.
It was never in the catalog book and not on the website anymore. Was only
available online.
Here on current steel bracelet.
Wait, I'll have to ask the watch crazy Dutch guy from the mocket watch gang
who helped me getting it.
I was very
tempted by this 3777.24 as it would be the perfect mate to my Tribute to
MarkXl
But ultimately I couldn't justify it as my 3717 seen here with it, is very
similar etc.
Beautiful watch indeed!
Mark, it looks like you need a little help. Similarities? Sure, but consider
all the differences.
The reference number is a whole sixty numbers different!
The 3717 is a whole 1,000 micrometers smaller!
The straps are COMPLETELY different!
Propeller hands versus Mo.D. hands, I mean, come on!
The day and date displays are completely opposite one another!
Even the Arabic numbers do not look the same!
Each second divided into teeny tiny parts on the 3777!
The sub-dials on the 3777 are BIGGER!
The color of the markers and hands of the 3777-24 are so warm and inviting!
Have I convinced you yet? :) Kidding, of course. The 3717 hits the sweet
spot for a lot of Pilot Chronograph lovers. I just happen to be one who likes
the extra 1,000 micrometers (okay, one measly millimeter) and prefers the
larger sub-dials. The Ministry of Defense hands and the warm, creamy color
lume push me over the edge. I'm hoping all goes according to plan and I have a
3777-24 to share later today. Shout out to Tilo for the reminder that such a
"perfect for me" watch exists!
Thank you
Time Exposure for
the great effort of enablement, but I feel I have bases adequately covered
with Tribute to MarkXI and 3717.
Good Luck and I hope you secure a 3777.24
I had several of the best enablers with me at the Schaffhausen Boutique when
that pic was tacken, but ultimately they were unsuccessful in their bid to
entice my Credit Card out :o)
