The new Big Pilot

Interesting side by side. The font on the new 5009 seems slightly thicker than on your 5004 also. Subtle change but you can't go wrong with either.

Interesting comparison! The return of the 9 is very good. When compared with the 5002 I think the new watch looks better because of the font used. All in all this new watch looks perfect! What I like too is that the alligator strap has been exchanged for a calfskin strap: it is more in line with a tool watch, even when it is a luxury one. I hope it proves to be sturdy enough for the pin of the deployant clasp.

Some months ago this watch was shown here with a smart watch device on the strap. Is it an add-on?

Hello Paul - I believe the IWC connect will be an accessory, integrated into a Big Pilot strap and available only at boutiques. The actual "connect" module is small and removable but I am not aware of any plans to integrate it into other strap types at this time.

The return of the 9 is very welcome - the position of the triangle I like on the 5004 more...
On the font I am not decided yet - I think I like both ;)
The strap I have to see and feel in real-life - on the picture the alligator looks better to me.

But as both are "real" Big Pilots - you can't do wrong anyhow :D
