    Dear Sani,
Welcome to the IWC forum!!! You sure know which piece we are talking about. I haven't been up to KL lately but I will be there in mid-june and you can be sure I will visit you at the Pavilion again. Cheers mate.

    Hello,
Personally I like the look of white gold and platinum. I have tried rose/yellow/red gold and they look too flash for me. The 502218 is 42.3mm in size, I have tried that in the past and I felt it wasn't right for me. But with the 5023 and the new 5032 they are all in 44.2mm cases, they look better in my opinion.

It's hard to measure the worth of the watch just because it's a limited edition piece. I don't buy watches in the hope that I sell it for a profit in future. Buy something you genuinely like and can comfortably afford. That's as sound an advice as I have for anyone purchasing a timepiece that's over a certain financial barrier.

    Best Regards,

    Dear Nevd,
Glad to know you have been lurking and finally took the plunge and posted on the IWC forum. I like to welcome you to IWC's very own forum.

To answer your questions, and I stand corrected by MF or any forum member:

    1. When IWC says it's 250 pieces, it does not mean that it will make 250 pieces in 1 year. Due to production backlogs, they only produce a certain number each year. I honestly don't believe all 250 pieces will be produced in 1 year.

    2. The platinum piece is a tad heavier than the white gold. Personally I like heavier watches, the heavier it is the better for me. One will get used to the weight after a while. To answer your question, I don't have the exact details of the weight of the watch, but my estimate is the platinum piece is about 30% heavier than the white gold.

    3. You may navigate around the IWC website, go to the link under 'find a retailer' and choose your country/city, I am sure an AD will show up. Contact the AD/boutique for more information. Alternatively drop me an email and perhaps I could point you to the right direction.

I received this watch - in the 18 kt rose gold examplar - as a gift in 02/2010.
I enjoy wearing it so much that i have made it my 'everyday' timepiece. It elicits many positive comments and it is always fun to look at the dial with all of its complications.

I missed out on the opportunity to acquire a Portuguese 'regulateur' and hope that these will be reintroduced in stainless steel (or 18 kt yellow gold)

Thank you Shing and KS for your comments. I'm too am concerned with the rose gold on 502213 being too flashy for my taste and so my shortlist for a white dial seem to be down to the PT piece. A friend did advise me not to spend too much extra on the PT piece given difference can be used to get another watch! However at this point I just wanna make sure of getting just the one that I truly like.

go with your heart ! I like to tell friends of mine (and probably have told KS too when I met up with him recently): after a decision is made and a timepiece purchased, I suffer from no buyer's remorse - at worst seller's remorse :) sorry, I am a tough customer :))

Hi Shing! I noticed that you are located in Hong Kong. I plan to visit HK next month and would like to see the IWC flagship store in Tsim sha tsui. Is it the one near Ocean center along Canton road? Also, I frequently visit HK, at least 3 times a year but still haven't found a good dimsum place for breakfast. Would you know any, thanks!

Hi MB - yes Flagship is along Canton Road, opposite Ocean Center. Its at Heritage 1881.

Drop me an email and let me know what/where dimsum places u have tried ? There is actually one round the corner from Flagship - that's at Starhouse (electronics stuff, and so-named "Star" presumably I think because it looks across the Star Ferry terminal). Others too in Central and Sheung Wan - a lot depends on your specific preference.

    Simply stunning! And somewhat stealth.

Just the way I like my perpetuals.
