I searched the forum but could only find one thread on the 3718, and, as I started that thread, I'm not sure that really counts...
So, possibly the least loved of the "Spitfire" series then, but I have to say that I find this version the most appealing.
I should mention the more classical, or dressy, IWC watches clash aesthetically with the rest of me, so sporty watches are my "thing".
The refined, multifaceted dial familiar from the regular Spitfire enhanced with "sporty" elements, the grey chrono subdials and bright red 15 minute markers, make it something of a winner. Though, judging by the infrequency with which it appears, not a widely held opinion...Ah well..... ,-)

The great Spitfire - loved by many

I am delighted to see the Spitfire in this forum. My favorite IWC. If it is unloved, it is because it is under-appreciated.

Enjoy it with pride and pleasure.

    the "unloved" spitfire

I loved this one too, until I didn't and sold it recently. I still think it's one of the most underrated designs in the fleet. It somehow balances sporty and elegant all at the same time.

    You're absolutely right, Adam

I really enjoyed your pics and I think I try to get one if possible. Probably I'll have to sell something for this ... :-(
A wonderful timepiece anyway. And you're right: I really don't know why no one talks about this watch. It's crazy.
Thanks for your great pics that made me smile.

    you're very welcome :-)

I wish the forum would allow for more than 2 pictures per post...

It's fast become my favorite too, it's not been off my wrist since I got it. It's also my most accurate watch, running 5 secs fast over six days ! Most of my other watches are 3 or 4 seconds per day.

    Hi Adam, not unloved but...

... I do remember when your model was introduced at SIHH a few years back, the first models where still not delivered to dealers (almost) a year later!

I think in general very little of these have been produced?! Next to that, I really think that the Spitfire Pilot's watches are special: I find the dial amazing with a lot of depth and they are 200% IWC to me!

Enjoy your great watch and on a bracelet it is stunning!

    Bob
