    Hi all

Of the three generations of the Big Pilot watches which is your favourite? And
    why?

    Cheers

I would have to say that for me it is the second generation (5004 - yes, I'm a
no-9er). While the first generation Big Pilot's Watch (5002) refined a
standardized dial layout, the second generation dial evolved into a uniquely
and so elegantly balanced IWC design that defies the ordinary yet maintains
the simplicity and clarity intrisic to the concept of the pilot's watch:

For me it acually would be the latest version. I prefer to have the 9 on the
dial (sorry Ben ;-)) and i also prefer the font typ. Beside the design I also
like the fact that on the new movements they have ceramic parts!

As a 5009-01 owner, I'm very partial to it. However I would be lying if I
didn't admit that every once in a while I admire the addition of the '9' on
the 5009-12+ and the continuity it returns across the dial. I think the fatter
font has my vote too. #content

Something else that makes the 500401 a little unusual; none of luminous
    indices are the same;)

3rd gen for me. Evolution is a beautiful thing.... Better balance,
contemporary look... Hope any future changes are little tweaks to account for
the times without losing the DNA.
