    Good day,

I purchased an IWC deployant IWA05337 for my IWC 3337 from an AD, and can't say I'm impressed with the overall design. The quality seems fine, but the portion that is pryed open, the one that plugs into the holed side of the strap is not held captive by anything. Most of the time when taking the watch off and prying this part open, you pull the pin right out of the hole and lose your adjustment and the watch falls open. It totally defeats the purpose of a deployant, which is to keep the watch together and circle when taking it on and off.

    Am I alone?

Hello Jeffza and welcome to the forum. Firstly - are you sure you have a ref. 3337 or is it possibly a 3777? Secondly, did you also purchase a strap designed for a deployant clasp? I would suggest that the problem most likely stems from the size of the strap holes. I have found that my deployants work well with IWC alligator straps that tend to keep their hole size. I have had an issue, however, with the deployant clasp I have on a calfskin strap where the soft leather seems to stretch more easily and the hole has loosened. I am not sure if a tighter fit to start would make that much of a difference with this strap because of the softness of the leather.

Yes, sorry, 3777 with the alligator strap.

I've never experienced any issue using deployment clasp with OEM IWC croc strap.
Here is a picture of my set up.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I believe part of the problem is I went from a standard buckle to this deployant clasp. The hole has been slightly "stretched out". Also, you must pull on the clasp to open it, gripping both sides. No prying! I did, however, rig up a slightly better fix. I ordered some small 1.2mm "e-clips". I simply requested something that will accommodate a less than 1mm shaft, which is about the size of the pin, but a lot less than the head:

It's a good fix, but I still think IWC needs to design another deployant if they're going to be selling them for +$500.00.
