Nevermind. We will be back in the not to distant future.

New arrival. Bill was kind enough to bring this for me all the way from New York. The tonneau cased Da Vinci's are my favourite watch. Period. A Laureus edition is a very special watch. Throw in the fact that this was Kevin's and you can understand that this is a pretty special addition to my collection. No surprise that I love it and I'm really really happy to have been lucky enough to own it. It is gorgeous.

One of the things I enjoy most about travelling is meeting new people. Yesterday Steff and I had the pleasure of meeting Geert. He is the founder and president of the Belgium Watch Club. He also happens to the Master Of Ceremonies for Ghent Cathedral. We were lucky enough to spend 2 - 3 hours getting a behind the scenes tour. It was pretty amazing. Didn't really take pics but here is a couple.

There is an awesome story of theft and mystery with this art work. This is the copy but we got to see the original too.

There was tons of cool sculptures but I found this one of with the skeleton most interesting.

This was the door handle from a set of massive bronze doors. So solid. They were very cool.

There were so many treasures in that place. But 99% of people would walk straight past without a clue. This chair was pretty cool. Dated from 1250.

It really was a pretty amazing afternoon. A real bonus as we had no idea what Geert did for a job before we met.

Then we went for a beer and watch talk. Great fun. Was a perfect afternoon in Ghent to do this.
