Hello all. My daughter inherited a small gold ladies watch, probably 1950's/60's. It has a very nice gold bracelet with the marks HP 750.
    750 I understand as 18k.
Can anyone identify what the HP stands for ?
Google has let me down on this.

HP is drawing a blank in my memory.
If it was GF - it would be Gay Freres.

    Hi David,

I cannot find an "HP" bracelet manufacturer, could it be HC

Thanks guys. Unfortunately my daughter, the owner, decided to part with it so I cannot give any real feedback.

The watch you have shown is a mans watch from the late 1930's

It is shown in the 1938 catalogue under the catergory "Special-tight" watches

    www.gregsteer.net/IWC/I_Images/IWC_Taubert.jpg

List price was 140 Swiss francs

You can see the same case in this Taubert (they were watch case manufacturers) advertisment from 1939

    www.gregsteer.net/Watches/W_Images/LCH_1939_p032_Taubert.jpg

The movement is probably a Calibre 62. Removal of the case back by a watch maker (NOT a quartz battery changer) and recording/photographing the movement and case numbers will provide confirmation.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers from the cellar

Greg, I'm always amazed how you're able to identify watches AND come up with original material the watch was showcased in!

    Kind regards,

    Bob
