There is a great deal of material in the archive which some members of the Forum have probably not seen. So every Tuesday I'm going to post a link to an article from the archive- it may be something interesting, funny or even strange. Remember that the responses to the archive post are also worth a read.

With winter not that far away in the Northern Hemisphere I thought it would be appropriate to see how one Forum member decided to test his Aquatimer. It is not something I would recommend.

    Please follow the link below.

    Cheers from the cellar

I had to do it.....Just to see how Tough

    Great initiative!

    What an experiment!

This one reminds me of a dive I took when it was freezing and there was ice on the water. Unfortunately the AT did not really like that dive. It had to go back for services because of condensation.

    Great initiative (GST Icetimer)

I mean yours - not sticking a GST Aquatimer in the freezer.

I look forward to Tuesdays with a different viewpoint now.

    Great idea Greg>

You're right, most of us have joined the forum relatively recently, or forgotten some of the gems in the archive.
It is fairly easy to search for specific items, but finding quirky posts like this one would be nearly impossible.
    I'm looking forward to more.
    Cheers, Ross

    These pictures make me shiver!

I can understand that you use a cheap (a few bucks) watch for tests like this but I would NEVER do something like this to my IWC's!

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Icy, some comments too, quite refreshing

I certainly like your idea, thank you for the effort. Maybe you should tag a code to them, then searching for the interesting posts will become easier in a few months time.

you can't tag or alter the archived posts

...but you can do a lot of searching on your own, realizing especially interesting posters and topics. For example, look for posts by the late "earlyiwc" (among others) for historical subjects. "cellar" also has been an excellent contributor over the years. There are many others --often, when you plug into a string, you'll identify other contributors and then can check out their archived topics.

    Good luck,
    Michael
