This week is a continuation of the recent theme on IWC cases - it's the super compressor.

I've started with the only image remaining in the post, but it clearly shows the super compressor case.

Like always it is worthwhile reading the responses to the initial post (which showed a fish crown dial). The image I posted is no longer in the archive (I changed ISP's) but is reproduced above. It is interesting to see the diver with the diving helmet above and the diving helmet on the case back shown by Michael that also has the Piquerez patents.

There was also a bit more in another post about Piquerez

I know of a least one other case maker used by IWC but that is a story for another day

    Cheers from the cellar

Are these the 'crossed hatched" crowns...

Catherine refers to, and that were in the earlier Ref 812, befpre the fish? The image from mb75 is no longer available.
    Excelent post as usual. Thanks.

I'd always assumed that "Super Compressor" >

was a trade-name from a case maker, since many diving watches from the 1960s used the same case design/maker and are marked Super Compressor. I didn't know who had the patent, presumably Piquarez held the "Super Compressor" trademark too?

Thanks Greg, very interesting Tour today.

Cellar - Clepsydra: the start of a collaboration?>

Two wonderful and very interesting posts, thank you both of you, for launching the threads and for implementing them with further and valuable info.

    Love the print AD.

    Kind Regards,

    That is very flattering Roberto...

I fear that, compared to Cellar, I am just a diletante. I know just enough about IWC to get into serious trouble.

    As I remember them ...

... I was hoping Martijn would repost his original image (hint, hint).

    Cheers Greg.

    Thanks, once again!...

It was another tour that educated me about something I did not know.

    Best regards,
