A comparison of the Ref. 322705 (Ingenieur Automatic, Collectors' Forum Edition) and the Ref. 323605 (Ingenieur Mission Earth, Adventure Ecology Special Edition, called the Plastiki Inge):
A comparison of the Ref. 322705 (Ingenieur Automatic, Collectors' Forum Edition) and the Ref. 323605 (Ingenieur Mission Earth, Adventure Ecology Special Edition, called the Plastiki Inge):
I saw a very special couple in the shop window of one of the AD's in Zermatt: the Plastiki and the 3227 Zidane. Both are blue. Where the Plastiki has orange numbers and markers, the Zidane has a red 10. The most amazing thing: you must have significantly more desire to buy the Zidane when compared to the Plastiki. I guess the Zidane I saw was the same I saw last year, although now in interesting company. I guess, as the fame of Zidane fades away with time, I may still see the Zidane there in five years time, unless something remarkable happens.
Kind regards,
Paul, being between watches
Thanks for the side by side picture Michael, much appreciated! The Plastiki has a very refreshing look.
Kind regards,
Clemens
One of the best features of the newer Ingenieurs is the crown guards which are engineered so well that they do not upset the symmetry of the watch even though the right side is obviously more robust. I don't know whether its an opyical illusion or just the clear sight lines but it works for me
I like that comparison shot. Last week I started wearing my CFI after not wearing it for several months, and I'm in love once again. What a great, solid watch. I would tell anyone who does not have the 'old style' Ingenieur to find one, and feel the solid heft.

Great comparison photo, Michael. I love the Plastiki color scheme but found it a touch large. The 3227 is just right for me. I miss the one I had and have been keeping my eyes open for a replacement.
Thank you for this pic--it only reinforces my desire to buy the Ingenieur Mission Earth. As classic as the 3227 is, I really do like the crown guards on the new edition.
Of course, I wouldn't mind having both, but I am having the darndest time finding a new 3227
If you don't mind having a titanium one, I saw a brandnew one in Luzern, with titanium bracelet. Pretty amazing, as Luzern is quite a watch town.
Kind regards,
Paul, wearing that titanium 3227 with bracelet, after just returnuning home from our holiday in Switzerland
I love the Ref. 322705 look.
Nice one,
BR, Julx
still like the 3227 CFI.... for me the original!
