    Dear Friends,

As promised we have updated the IWC website to incorporate our latest creation The Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia.

Explore the timepiece from another world with a 3D interactive presentation, video explanation of the main features, star charts of the northern & southern hemispheres and much more.

    • The Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia interactive detail page is available here : http://www.iwc.com/siderale
    • An article entitled « Gigantic observatories » talks about the ESO Paranal observatory here: http://bit.ly/q889ei
    • Meet the team behind The Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia here: http://bit.ly/nfixnn
    • The launch video of the event in Chile is available here: http://bit.ly/qvpHsr

Thank you ! Great stuff. Beyond the timepiece, the information thus far is making me want to go to the middle of a desert and star-gaze !

i've been reading up on this new PSS.
    so far, i'm kinda... speechless
gives new meaning to the term "the stars must be aligned".

i must say its an astronomer's dream watch. to be honest, i have no use for a sidereal time, but i'm sure someone will find this watch unique as its customized for the individual. (might affect potential resale value in future???)

i'm intrigue by the back dial... don't know how iwc managed to fit a perpetual calendar on this. can anyone update how the stars and location will actually change or be updated? is it a rotating disc of sorts?

in any case, like someone mentioned, if you need to ask about the price, you probably can't afford it... so here goes... how much does it cost?

I look forward to seeing time-lapse photography of the night sky disk.
A small, but important detail: an automatic watch winder in the case (for a manual watch) is very friendly. :)

Antonio, I may be wrong but I believe the box already hosts a watch winder.

I do not want to sound pretentious but, I think that is what I say in my post. I used is, the present tense. :) Otherwise I would have said "would be..."
I hope I do not have to resort to BC's infamous line regarding the meaning of is :))

Definitely a proud moment for IWC. Congratulations on such an accomplishment. The watch is breathtaking. I am a little speechless.

Equally impressive is the coordination and execution of the Internet marketing and press junket - over a weekend, no less.
