Played around today with my VC Aquatimer and a macro lens. Here are a few shots to show off the fine work performed by the team in Schaffhausen.

brilliant shots David - this and the ref 812 / 1812 are my top two favorite dive watches in the IWC repertoire.

Thanks guys. Taking photos of watches combines two of my main interests - lots of fun.

I'm with you Shing, the Ref 812 is a thing of beauty.

David, great photos of your Ref 812, you are making it very tough to stick to my promise of no more this year. LOL.

    Thanks for sharing.

Man, those pictures are crystal clear. So sharp! Both the watch and the pictures are as sharp as they come!

Thanks Kevin. But though I love the Ref 812, my watch is the 3231 -- you knew that and I threw you off with my mention of the 812.

Thanks Dick. I'm fortunate to have a couple of really nice macro lenses. For what they cost I could buy a Mark XVII but then what would I use to take photos of my watches? :)

    David,

These are the best macro shots of the VC-AT I've yet to see. Your photograph skills are quite impressive. I just love the dial layout. The clarity of the pic's takes my fascination with this model to another level.

A favor....next time you are playing with the macro, please take a picture of the entire rubber strap and Pin buckle. A closeup would help give a detailed look at the "embossed design" of the OEM strap IWC chose to pair for the complete overall vintage look.

Oh, one more favor David. With your permission, now that you have finally received your AT, may I borrow your tag line..."Waiting not so patiently for my Vintage Aquatimer" ? That way if Schaffhausen sees it, maybe they will check on my (deposit) order from early May and find out what's the holdup. I hope soon to share the same excitement that you experienced when word came that your VC-AT was on the way. To borrow another line....Schaffhausen , can you hear me? Can you hear me now?

    Thanks David,

    Andy

Thanks Andy. As I sometimes say when taking photos in the mountains, "it would be difficult to take a bad photo of this scene." Same with beautiful watches. Next time I'm playing, I'll be sure to capture the strap as well.

And of course you can use my previous tagline. I never got around to registering it as a trademark so, legally speaking, you don't even need my permission. :)

David - thank you so much!

I've been trying to locate a VC Aquatimer to see in person and haven't had any success in the San Francisco Bay Area. These are the best photos I've seen of the watch so far, appreciate it very much!

If anyone have any leads on where I can get one, please let me know, especially in California area. It would be much appreciate it! I am visiting NYC's IWC Boutique in Sept, I hear they have a white gold one there, so hopefully I'll get to see it in person.

Thanks much again for the great photos, like others said, keep them coming :-)

Thanks all for the very kind comments.

Thomas - Andy has dibs on the next VC AT to hit US shores and I'm reasonably certain that he's willing to use any means necessary to ensure that nothing interferes with that. :) I believe that the Geneva boutique has the VC AT in steel. Perhaps you could visit there rather than NY. If not, I bet they'd be willing to ship it to you.

Hee hee :-) I'm sure there are many others ahead of me besides Andy.

Geneva, huh? tempting... Thanks for all the shots and info, I better just jump on it when I come across a IWC 3231-01.
