Would love help identifying this vintage watch - believe it is from the early
70's.
How might I change the calendar date?

MasterCongrats on that nice 8541.
Turn the hands forward until the date changes.
Then turn the minute hand back to about ten minutes to twelve and then forward
in the other direction as often until the current date is reached.Regards

MasterLooks like a ref 810 but could be 820 if it's screwback (though both are more
synonymous with a slightly different dial style/not that that means much) -
