    Hello,

I believe I have a 1952 IWC schaffhausen that is in tough shape and am wondering if it is worth a restoration. Am adding pictures, can someone in this group assist me in an opinion please?  Not sure of the model and haven't been able to even come close to finding another like it.

Could be ref 1150 ( least the gold variant is)

Subtle differences between gold and steel offerings of the same model was not uncommon back in the day.

    Hi,

According to Date your IWC http://www.moeb.ch/dyIWC/ The movement is a cal 852 from 1952. I am not certain about the case, the case number (on the inside of the caseback) is difficult to read in the images. You can check for yourself.

The movement is one of the best there is and IWC still service them, they have spare parts. If you want they can also refurbish both case and dial. It will not be cheap and you will not recover the money spent if you sell it. But if you want a beautiful and unusual watch as your daily wearer. it might be worth it.

Please keep us posted on your decision!

    Best regards,

    Henrik
