Vintage IWC -Rare model?

Hi all IWC experts out there,
I bought an exact same model of the watch as below for approx. €500 in a pawnshop a couple of years ago. There was no certificates, papers etc. but I think they mentioned that it was produced during the 1950’s.

I have tried to find some additional info regarding the model, the clockwork and how much it could be worth today.

Does any experts out there have any information if I made a good deal and/or if I should keep it?

if you like the watch keep it and wear it as much as possible. In my opinion what you payed is fair and correct for a watch like that one you have got, nothing more nothing less. I have a similar watch cal. 88 payed no more than yours.....today the world is full of "rare piece of faboulous value"......

Cal 88, although not rare, are not that common either.
It's a wonderful movement in a wonderful IWC watch.
They were in production from 1946 to 1964.

It's predecessor, Cal 83 was in the famous Mark IX and Mark X aviator Watches. Truly rare pieces.
