Hi, I'm new to the Iwc crew.
    I have one question..
i just purchased a vintage Iwc, and i wonder a little bit about the value on this watch?
Would really appreciate it if Someone out there could help me?
I understand that this may be a pocketwatch movement? But it's in a regular watch (dresswatch)
    the casenr: 56(0,585) 735090 / with a golden crown.
    movementnr: 68583

    Best regards Hampus.

Hello Hampus and welcome to the forum.
The movementnr 68583 is the number of a pocketwatch movement , cal 52, dating from 1891.
A shame it is not a pocketwatch anymore, so value for a collector is close to nothing.
At that time IWC did not make wristwatches.
    I hope you didn't overpay.

    Hi Tonny.
Thanks for information. But i don't really get it?
How come a pocketwatch movement is in a wristwatch case from ca 1920?
I paid around 200$, works really well, and very beautIful.
    best regards Hampus

Try taking a photo with a smartphone - you can even post a photo from a smartphone if you have an internet connection. Just make sure that the camera settings are not too high - the file size limit for uploading photos is 5mb.

    Hello Hampus

The movement number has 6 digits and the caliber may well be a 64 T.

    Hi Hampus,

In 1918 there was a production run of Calibre 64T watches from numbers 685481 to 686500.

As Rolf suggests, check the movement number because 68583x would fit in the production range.

    Cheers from the cellar

The T in the 64T means that the hands are adjustable by pulling out and turning of the crown as opposed to a 64, where there was a button you needed to press and then turn the crown to adjust the hands. A modification inspired by the use of the movement in wristwatches, I have been told.
