    Hi,

I am interested in learning a bit more about a watch that i believe is a vintage IWC

    (i.e. make, model, year, value)

The only text/symbols i can see on the watch is the inscription 750 on the clip and above it is a small symbol stamped on that i cannot read but might say <hk>.

Below are links to some images.
If any IWC experts could assist, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I can only say: It's a watch.
No indication it could be an IWC.

    Hi MFC2,
we are entering the land of speculation, but the case especially from the backside and also the style of the lugs look very much like a watch from schaffhausen. Also the style of the hands leads me to think of IWC origin.
If you google for "IWC Cal 401" you will find pictures on the web that could give you some evidence. The speculated models are typicaly equipped with hand wound movements of calibre 40x.

You need to open the case back to prove your theory.

    Thanks for the info

It is a watch that needs to be wound to work.

The story i was told is that it was sent for repairs many years ago and the schaffhausen logo was cleaned off of the face in error.

It does look like some of the photos of cal 401 models. But i couldn't find one with a gold band.

It still works but one day i hope to take it to an iwc shop with the view of having it restored as it has sentimental value
