As some of you know, I am collecting pocketwatches, IWC only.

Far from saying that my collection is a museum collection but I am proud to
have found some nice and rare pieces over time.

Some of the pocketwatches are common, easy to find on the market, sometimes in
better condition than mine, but some I have are gems.

So in these crazy times, as the museum in Schaffhausen is closed, why not open
    one here on the forum.

As long as the museum is closed, I will post here daily a pocketwatch from my
    collection.

I hope I don't run out of pieces before the virus is beaten. Fingers crossed
    for all of us.

I will post them in a random order, with some comments, feel free to join.

    Keep safe all.

    DAY 7 :

Today, a much younger pocketwatch, one of the smaller ones in my collection.

It has the cal 952 from 1967.

    On day 3
there is the cal 95 to be seen, the difference between the 95 and the 952 is
    the added shockresistance.

This example here is a very elegant, slim pocketwatch and wearable today with
    a nice golden chain.

Inside the case you see the ref number 139, and again we have a bit of a
mystery here ; when looking in the Tolke and King book, my cal number shows as
a cal 41. The numbering at the end of the cal 41 then jumps to the cal 952,
but my cal number is lower than the first cal number in the book.

I really should ask for a extract to see where the mystery lays.

I found an old post with a picture of a ref 139 ; same case but different dial
    and hands.

Another very handsome timepiece indeed Tonny.

IWC used these Cal. 952 over an relativly short period of time, as they were
soon exceeded by the Cal. 972. I share here with you an example from my
Collection, which is a mere 5 years younger than yours,

The watch was sold on 25th May 1972 to Rosenmayer in Vienna.

I too ran up against the same issue as Tonny, in that the listing in Tolke &
King has a mistake. So I deciden to apply for an extract from the register.
Schaffhausen when researching the case number in the archives discovered, that
the actual case record for this watch refelects that it is a Ref. 5200 fitted
with a Cal. 95. Clearly, not the correct. Fortunately, the watch had over
it's lifetime been sent to Schaffhausen for a service, and according to the
service database this watch is a Cal. 952.

The movement is as one would expect truly handsome too.

And fortunately, just like Tonny's it's engraved there too - right on the
    mainplate.

The ref. 5201 was on offer for a very long term, from 1978 to 2008.

In addition to the ref. 5414, the last IWC pocket watches in the catalog from
    2008.
