Watches and Wonders 2015 and watchmaking class with Herr Klaus

It was first day of Watches and Wonders 2015 yesterday and IWC is presenting some novelties from the Portofino series.

Then we moved to another room where we were given a masterclass by the Grandmaster of all: Herr Kurt Klaus

The training module seems fail-proof with arrows engraved, and screws not to be played with is distinguished different colour

Thank you Erwin, great report and photos. I really like the new Big Pilots we are seeing but I have to say - you had the nicest Pilot in the house (I believe Herr Klaus was checking out your watch, not your work, in that one photo). The new Portofinos are also interesting. I love the 8-day base caliber and the monopusher is quite intriguing. I do like the day-date; somehow it works even with 4 different sub-displays.

The watch making class is a real treat too. I did one more than 10 years ago an was very tempted and still am.
Herr Klaus is a living legend and such a nice guy that it's always a pleasure to meet him.

Thanks for the great report Erwin. I wonder when they added the arrows engravings, maybe after I messed up during class? :-) :-)
