Went shopping on Saturday for the mundane things for the house and came away with 2 lamps and my feet managed to divert me to my AD and I was offered a good deal on a JLC and an IWC, left the AD with a hole in my pocket and a box in a carrier bag. Why do dealers try and remove and throw all those little bits of tags and poly covers? So annoying! Also he went away to retrieve the box and fully wound and set the watch as well! Now the pround owner of 2 Portuguese in S/S Chrono and now an Auto.

    Sticky bits

Fold over sticky watch cover only. Evidently the guarantee leaflet and card live not in the box but on top of the polystyrene former in the cardboard box. But what is the rectancular hole on the underside of the tray for?

rectancular hole on the underside of the tray

is where IWC "hide" the packaged "tool-set" that comes with watches which have been ordered ex factory with a bracelet. Two 4mm (about) brass awls' which are used to push out / and down the clips/pins of the modern IWC bracelets. My AD too - had a bad habit of removing them. Wanting me to have a reason to visit the store whenever I needed a link added or removed.

    Missing tools

And how often has that resulted in a new watch? Buy a new car and the dealership grabs the wheel brace or jack, get a puncture and buy a new car!!

    Thank you for the comments

Thank you for the comments, the collection grows slowly and hopefully continues to grow. Currently it stands at 2 IWC a Le Coultre moonphase calender, a Rolex Day Date and a Zenith Elite Auto, I have tried in the past to post photos but with no joy and it remains a hurdle to me.
