    Hello Forumers,
yesterday i took the chance to look over the Interview with ... section on the IWC Website. And i did sumble over an image of a Calibre 100 jubilee watch in the Intervie with Arrian van der Meijden. Long ago i asked a question on the exitence of any watches with calibre 100 or 1001 bur there was no response or data around at that time. Is it really true that Adrian got the chance to take a photo of that watch or is one of them in his posession?
What is the story behind that watch ?
From what i know, non of those watches have ever been sold.

I copied the image from Adrians inteview./site_media/ckeditor_images/02e6e66aa462a40811e293d7b61ba3aa.jpg

Can somebody help to shine a light on the abandoned development of Cal. 100 and Cal. 1001.
From my records, the image shows a watch with date indicator taht should be a Cal. 1001.

Has it been discussed before on the forum, (i still miss the search function)

Would be great to get some Background information.

[i]As Adrian obviously at the moment is not on, I may reply:

The calibre 100 does exist, very few are around, none has been sold.

I once had the chance to have a look at one such watch in a collection of a fellow collector, who passed away in the meantime. Whether or not Adrian owns one I don't know, but I doubt he does.

Unfortunately no more information availabe from my side (as my focus is on older watches than the cal. 100).

    Hope this helps!

    Ok, I just signed in.
It pleases me that a collector shows interest in this watch made for the IWC 100 year jubilee.
The images in my article come from a cal. 100 owned by Hannes Pantli (retired member of the board but still active for IWC) and from a Swiss collector who I don't know in person.
I do not own a cal. 100. There was indeed not one watch sold.  It is unknown how these few pieces left the factory. IWC decided to withdraw the watch as it turned out that the tight tolerances from parts of the movement made that most of the watches needed extra attention from the watchmakers at IWC, before it could be released. It was too complicated and time consuming before the watches were sufficiently reliable.
Still there came a few cal 100 watches on the market, but I never saw one offered. Heiko ( hebe on the forum) was offered one but he did not buy it.
If I get your email address, I can send a copy of the article.
Or you could ask my email address from the moderator.
    Regards,
    Adrian,
