Hi there everyone.

I have a question. As you know I love time only watches and one of the many watches I have been eye balling lately is the 5441 Pisa and the platinum Jubilee. What are your opinions about these watches? I have my own vieuws and opinons, but I am really curious what you think about these watches.

Please do share pictures

Koen...The Portuguese Pisa is one of my "grail" watches.  I think it is the perfect manifestation of the Portuguese "family."  The two times I have had a chance at snagging one, my circumstances (unfortunately) precluded the purchase.  I think you would have a special piece you would always treasure.

Hi Koen,
Here is a "Christoph Grainger-Herr Instagram" picture of the 5441 Pisa

You ask for our views and opinions.
We all know the facts:
[]A real Portugieser from the last century
[
]Limited to 50 pieces
[]Caliber 9828, sapphire glass - splendid
[
]Blue hands, white face

Same vintage feel as for the Jubilee (125th), quite thin on the wrist, great proportions
The rest is very personal.  When I wear it, nobody ever notices anyting special, because it is simply a discreet timepiece, with a beautiful movement.  This makes it truly enjoyable for me. What about you?

I absolutely agree that this one is a true grail watch among Portuguese watches. I have a number of reasons to have this opinion.

1. The movement is amazing
2. I believe that a true Portuguese, like the early ref 325, fits best in a steel case.
3. I love the long signature
4. I love the blue Breguet numerals. And if I am not mistaken it is on of less than a handful Portuguese references with Breguet numerals.
5. It is truly limited. Just 50 pieces.
6. There were great affords being done to keep the profile as clean as possible. No signed crowns and no number on the side of the case. Le number is on the movement.
7. Slim profile, but with wrist presence like a true vintage feel Portuguese.

I am also looking for 4178 Vacheron Constantin. Obviously can't have both.

Pisa is a wonderful watch indeed.  Even the packaging was rather special.  I considered myself lucky to own one and sometimes still miss mine.  Here are some more photos to whet your appetite.

Time only watches represent simplicity.
I have always loved them, but in today's world of increasing features, the complexity of the timepieces have also increased

I was lucky enough to scoop up the exact Pisa below... I am still super happy with this one (thanks Dick).
I will not let this one go anytime soon... in my opinion the only alternative that could match/beat it is a 325. It is a cornerstone of my carefully curated selection/collection of Portugueses.
Since 2015 there is another very special version... the Revolution model of the 5441 however this has a different movement (cal98200) and is only in red gold (a even more limited edition of 10... I’ve never seen one come up for sale). On this I also agree with Timeminded that in my experience a Portuguese is best cased in steel... I’ve owned red gold and platinum... it just a little different... but that’s very personal.
All in all... if you can find a Pisa... go for it!
