I'd be interested in other members experience with their BP's.

IWC's specs are between +-0 and +7 sec/day. That is a good mark for all IWC watches I think.
I once had a 5001 Portuguese Automatic with the same movement for several years which was always in this spec around +5.
Unfortunately not (yet) a BP owner.
I've noticed that my BP 5009 is most accurate when fully wound (around 6-7 days left in "reserve"). That being said, I noticed that it may be ~10 seconds fast after three or four days, but then as time passes, it will come back between the +0-7 seconds.
I used to be worried about it, but then realized (1) its still a piece of machinery which we should expect some variance, and (2) I have nowhere to be that needs +-0 to +-7 seconds accuracy!
Enjoy your watch.
Hi FrankBen,
Most watches should be most accurate when fully wound; in theory they are regulated and adjusted at that state. As a watch with a long mainspring unwinds that accuracy should change slightly due to natural isochronism error.
Thank you all for your comments. This is my first IWC, and have been a big fan of the BP since they were released. I've only had this piece for a couple of weeks and finding that it is gaining circa 7-10 seconds per day, not a big deal but as I have been wearing Rolex and Zenith for the last 10+ years have not been use to such variance. In any case I am giving this piece all my wrist time and absolutely love it.
I'm also impressed with the input from devoted IWC collectors on this forum to all topics.
Looking forward to exchanging more experiences with you all.
Thanks Chris
Chris...
You must share a photo of your 5009! Congratulations.
