Congrats on the MK XV, looks great!!!!

I had the White dial and sold it because I was moving to larger watches (44mm+++).

I am now wearing 39 and 40mm watches again and miss it, wish I still had it!!!! Cheers,

    Nad,

I am curious as to your dedicating more wrist time to 39-40mm watches again. Please elaborate in depth on your current desire to return to this diameter range. I believe many others are increasingly shifting their comfort and acceptance zones to revisit 40mm and below once again.

Nad, I consider you one of the top fans of the brand and someone with impeccable taste in all you do, I think your ( IWC ) comments and viewpoints carry much weight with forum members as well as IWC management and executives. Throughout the global IWC footprint, you are known as  a brand ambassador and it is reflected in many of your postings here on the forum. It is for these reasons that your feedback on the above subject matter IMO  will be of great interest to all who follow this Forum and the trend/direction of the watch industry as a whole.

Regarding missing the MARK XV White Dial...I must tell you that it was because of your past photo postings of the White Dial variation, that I put that piece on my " gotta have it " list. It took some time and much patience to find one that met my condition standards, but finally it was meant to be. I absolutely love love love that watch and could not think of ever parting with it. I bring this up as it relates to your comments about wearing watches around  the 39-40mm again. I can fully understand how you would miss it. Seek out another Nad. As you know all to well, it is such a elegant and stunning piece that is a delight and comfort to wear. It would be worth the time and effort to reunite that beauty back into your collection....permanently !

" What Nad Said ".....Looking forward to your thoughts (and any past Mark / White Dial pic's).

Forum members, please weigh in if you too are considering or already integrating watches into your rotation in the sub 40mm range.

    Best always to all,

    Andy

    interesting subject.

I once solled my MarkXII to a friend (with the ability to buy it back for the same price (!) unfortunately, he wants to pass it on to his son (..) he claimes that he does not sell it and in order to get it back I must be adopted by him and that is difficult Total different story) and swiched to larger ATs.
I think they are more apieling than smaller watches. Althoug I'm still fond of the UTC classic and the Pilotchrono 3706 (wich I consider not to big or small).
looking forward to other opinions in this matter.

    Big is beautifull
    cheers

I enjoy wearing watches below 40 mm. I always have. I have a few vintage pilot watches and a couple of Ingenieurs on the below 40 mm list. A small Portuguise can also find its way I suppose.

I had become accustomed to IWC watches in the 42mm size range and that was my comfort level........
Until this happened and I can say it is currently my most frequently worn IWC watch.
    Perfectly sized at 40mm.

Hi Andy, you are way too kind with your words and I’m not so sure I am as deserving as you say!
Smaller watches you ask???? Since my recent small-watch-collection does not include IWC, my reply is not focused enough on the brand for an in-depth answer here on the Forum. Feel free to email me directly (my email should be in my signature or profile).

Having said that however, I can say that I find these smaller watches (39mm & 40MM) are fitting amazingly well, are lighter weight, and feel like a "second skin"!!!!!

I've just picked up the most recent Laureus MK XVIII at 42mm and really enjoyed wearing it, especially on the summer Nato strap....................

I have been moving towards smaller watches for some time.  Following several vintage pieces I replaced my iconic 3227 Ingenieur with the smaller 3239, which I find much more comfortable.  I do still have the 3227, but the 3239 gets a lot more wrist time.  Subsequently I bought a

Mark XVIII LPP which has been getting a ton of wrist time.  I like it so much that a few months ago

I added the Mark XVIII Heritage in titanium.  As you can see, I replaced the brown aviator strap with a super comfortable khakhi.

Personally I don't like the watch larger than mm. 42, but the biggest satisfaction is now to find vintage watches "extra size" that means case around 38 mm. against the standard 35-36 mm. Quite always special serie, not limited edition, but produced in few numbers.
Different brands produced these special watches, including IWC .
Of course it depends also to the proportions of the watch , type of case, high , lugs type and so one.
The iwc portugieser ref. 325 is mm. 42 but wearing it it seems 38.......

Although I have some +44mm IWCs, I continue to wear my vintage sub 40mm IWCs regularly.  They are beatifully made, discrete and comfortable.  As fashions evolve, by definition, fashionable must become unfashionable sooner or later.
