    Hi All,

I am looking for an IWC watch and have ended up quite confused between the two
watches; big pilot (501001) and Chrono 41 (green dial on bracelet). This is
going to be my daily wearer.

I know they are both brillaint watches in their own right and in an ideal
world I would have both but at this point I can only get one. I have largeish
wrists so I can pull off 46mm big pilot, so size is not a particular concern.

I wanted to ask what decision you would make if you have to choose between the
two? Any guidance/views will be very helpful and much appriciated.

    Cheers,

    Sal

So, why not the green dial BP 501015 ^_^

I thought about that but I think that will be too bling for daily wearer. For
big pilot, I only really like the classic black dial.

But green dial works for the 41 for me.

Do you also have other watches? If I had only one watch and wanted to wear it
daily, I think a black dial would be more versatile. It would fit with more
different outfits and for more occasions. Green is a great colour, but more
for a watch to wear when it really fits, I think.

intresting point. At the moment, I only have one other watch with white dial.
but its too bling for daily wear. I will likely add more in future.

At the moment, my main concern is if big pilot can work as daily wear. Does
anyone here use it as daily wearer?

Thanks all for your guidance. So I have decided to go with the big pilot. I am
    very excited!

I called my local AD, and apprently they have a 500912 in stock but not a
501001 which they can order for me (I can wait).

But it got me thinking, if there is any difference between the two and it
turns out the movement in 501001 is high beat and 500912 is slow beat. but
design was they are very much the same if not identical.

Any suggestions which one I should go for?

ok so I finally got it. It was in another store, so the AD had to ship it in
which took a few extra days. Anyways its here now and I am very happy with the
choice. It is stunning. An icon indeed!

Huge congratulations! The BP is an iconic watch so no matter what you add
later in your collection this one will always remain relevant.

    As for if it's
a daily watch, that also depends on your work. The BP isn't easily fit under a
cuff and mechanical watches aren't great if you do hard labour either.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens
