Several months ago Larry Seiden posed a question about what we would call the 1868-2008 Jubilee collection (see link below). Many people gave their ideas.
It interesting to see that the name has gradually emerged as "VC ..." and this is the consensus name used by collectors on the forum.
So, Rob (RSTN24), take a bow as you seem to have predicted the name first.

    VC, after Vintage 140

I agreed with Rob from the beginning on VC, but Michael objected because of its reference to a sister company, so for a short time I called them Vintage 140.

At the German forum I once called the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar PPC, and was corrected in a friendly way by Alexander Linz that that was an abbreviation for that other famous company from Geneva (that to my surprise didn't take part on SIHH: what a pity!).

Most of the time I use the full name, but not for Vintage Collection. I just decided that, writing on an IWC forum, VC should be equally understood as part of the IWC collection as PPT.

So, the honours go to Rob, and I use VC all the time now.

    Kind regards,
    Paul, wearing... VC Portuguese
