My favorite solid back is absolutely this one

    i484.photobucket.com/albums/rr210/Mat-Vill/IWC/ATback.jpg
Nearly followed by the sweet titanium feel of this

And for the crystal back, the Port. Auto, Cal. 5000, has no contender

    Deep Two and Portuguese Automatic

The Deep Two because a dive helmet is simply THE icon for diving.

The Portuguese Automatic - well, yellow gold as a "weight" for the rotor is a statement...

Can you change the BP's solid back..

... to the Bucherer's crystal back? Would IWC sell the crystal back as a retrofit?

St Ex Chrono and Port Auto

At least, from the two I own. From the entire IWC collection, I really like the back of the Jubilee and that Plastiki back looks great too!

    Kind regards,

    I don't think so but I guess a good...

watchmaker could find a way to do it. But I do not think IWC would provide any assistance in this endeavor.

And now that I think about it...

you really would not want a glass back for a watch with a soft iron casing. Very boring.

My vote for solid back - "the man".

...and what a handsome gentleman he is.
