Last week I had the privilege to be a guest of IWC for a Collectors Meeting at Watch & Wonders in Geneva.

Most years when IWC reveal their novelties and show us proudly their new models, I have difficulty in answering the question “which one was your favorite?”. Typically I like the majority of the new timepieces.

However, this year it was different. Already when after  they opened the first box I was blown away …

    There it was…

… in all its glory: “The Sonny” !

The green dial simply pops. I immediately tried it on.

Perfect fit, wears well on the wrist. Right size at 40mm. I was / am truly impressed.

Then I moved on to the 2nd box of novelties.

    That’s when it happened!!!!

Love at first sight. My knees buckled under me. Seldom has a watch created such an immediate impression (and desire) on me.

Hahaha, Mark, you're doomed and you know it...

These wathes will haunt you until you get them finally.

    The disease: Uhrenvirus!

    The cure: None!

But to keep the symptoms under control you need to satisfy you desires from time to time ;-)

It was great to see you guys and the new watches released by IWC are outstanding especially the new Ingenieur models are impressive.

    That's my favorite model.

In comparison with the BOLD watches from the past ;-)

    "I am waiting for you"

    "Come back to bed..."

Mark - they're both calling your name, can you hear it?!?!?!?!?!!

Truly amazing watches, the same but different looks.

    Love it Mark!

I’m very keen to see the “Sonny” and try it on at a boutique.

Also, glad to see IWC bringing back the gold models! I believe the original 1832 (two-tone) and 9232 (gold) were yellow gold. Hoping IWC can bring that back too… perhaps for the 50th anniversary of the 1832. One can hope!

Tilo - thanks for the photos too. That Ingenieur Perpetual looks absolutely diminutive compared to those other perpetuals. Great comparison shot.
