Congratulations Shing and thank you very much for the story and history of the watch. Just like the others I think the watch has found a great new home in your collection!
Enjoy and wear it in good health.
Kind regards,
Clemens
Congratulations. A Great watch has found an even greater home with you.
For those less infrmed - This watch also boasts being the first IWC model with the screw in crown.
Congrats Shing, well done, and hapy to help
Hi Shing,
I almost didn't recognize your wrist with a bracelet on. The cuff looked like you....
Anyway, congrats on your new addition, nice P/U. Many cases during that era were sculpted in heavy metal designs, almost for lack of better words, chunky in nature.
I too have never been much of a bracelet guy, although I do have a couple for specific uses. IMO, bracelets on "heavy metal" case designs just emphasize the overall amount of metal on the wrist. Straps break up the look and allow the eye to focus on the main attraction. On smaller wrists, the too much metal look is even more enhanced.
Of course, this is my opinion and not intended to "diss" bracelets in any way. Bracelets serve a great purpose for many reasons from weather/element conditions to saving costs on strap replacement and of course they can be works of beauty.
Just thought I would chime in on the bracelet thing and again, great pick-up and thanks for sharing your new found treasure.
Regards,
Andy
Congrats buddy! Your collection is growing by the day. Happy for you. I am sure at some stage you will get a strap customised for this one...lol enjoy wearing it.
It looks terrific Shing! Great size and look - a wonderful acquisition for your first bracelet pice. Really nice story, too!
thanks gents.
@ Vishal and others who have paid particular attention to the Portuguese Pure Classic - I reluctantly walked away from it on three or more occasions (Sorry Flemy, Karen and Jasmine !) but I had done so knowing the (higher priority) alternative of hunting for a vintage or older piece, so here is this. at just under 9mm, this is an incredibly thin masterpiece, albeit not a Portuguese.
I must add - the thin-ness of the older or vintage pieces is highly encouraging it to tuck it under my right sleeve cuff and have me go double-wristed quietly going about my day.
I still think the 3227 Ingenieur and the Yacht Club IIs look their best in bracelets.
