    Dear forum members,

I have got a beautiful iwc watch (portofino hand wound) for a couple of months. I wind this watch usually at the end of the day. But at certain hours it looks likes that there is more risistance while winding.

So my question, is there a recommended time for winding the watch?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    Sander

It's best to be consistent when you wind the watch (but that's not critical). Most people think that first thing in the morning makes sense, after the watch has wound down partially overnight. A mechanical watch works theoretically best at a state of full wind, and starting out the day with that helps.

Thanks Michael for your answer! In that case I will choose a good moment for winding.
