You would think this is an easy thing but the manual is not clear and searching the web I found inconsistent answers. If I wind clockwise it seems stiff, not natural or normal. If I wind CCW it feels almost too easy like I am not actually winding at all. Which is correct?

    Thanks

Hold the he watch in your left hand. And with your right thumb and forefinger, wind the crown away from you.

Yep, Mark is obviously right: clockwise!! And if you keep winding you will even hear soft-double-clicking sounds once it's fully wound.
