As many of you know, early on this forum was subject to large Spam attacks, often with more than 100 Bot generated Spam posts per day. It became a major problem, so we activated a Spam filter.
The filter generally worked, although I do need to manually remove a few Spam posts as well. But one unfortunate side effect of the filter is that some legitimate posts were also barred --even some of mine! I can manually override the filter but that is a time-consuming project.
We finally have instituted a "white list", which means that certain forum members are pre-approved and not subject to the Spam filter. Generally, those forum members are regular and recent posters.
If you have a post caught by the Spam future after today (but not previously) please let me know via e-mail. I will manually publish your post and consider qualification for the white list. Please include both your forum alias and real name. Due to possible volume, I won't be able to reply to those e-mails, and there can't be a guarantee any one person will be added to the list.
Still, it's a solution that appears now to work, which is good for the forum.
