Great looking watch, certainly with the monochrome dial: congratulations, and enjoy your beauty.

Is this a tool watch nowadays? No way, the modern tool watch in this case would be a diving computer on your wrist. This IWC is a luxury watch with extra properties. It not only looks like a sporty watch, it performs like one. But it also is a luxury watch for those who love gold. It looks great, as indeed does the rose gold Fifty Fathoms. I wonder, are luxury divers watches the present, and tool watches the past?

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Congrats on a sensational watch - as others have said, maybe not best suited to the environment it is marketed at, but if you bought it as a beautiful watch and not a dive tool then I am sure you will be very happy with it for a long time to come!

    Cheers,

I'm not sure the "steel" ones, whether by IWC or Blancpain or Rolex or anyone else, are any more tool watches today when they cost at least 5000 Euros or whatever the appropriate cut-off number is. To me the only difference in function between gold and steel here is value, but at some point we're still in the stratosphere,

I recall seeing a Tour de France rider --wearing the yellow jersey in a race-- wearing a steel Cartier Tank watch. Nice watch. Nice racer. I hoped there wouldn't be a crash or scratch.

Thank you all for your feedback.
This is my one and only IWC (I have to give away my Portuguese Automatic and my Aquatimer Chrono Cousteau as a trade in). I have made good experience in wearing my former watches for more than two years and they had no scratches or anything else. So I hope the best for the next time with my new watch.
I´m not a diver and can only swim upon the surface:)
    Regards,
    Stefan

I agree MF...Kieler Jung has excellent taste !!

One other advantage Mr. Bond has is the "Bond Girls". How nice would it be to see those beauties modeling Mr. Jung's beauty.

I am currently thinking about buying the 3767-03 (the acquatimer chronograph with the blue face and orange bezel and SS bracelet) and I am not a diver, as long as it is waterproof to the deep end in the pool it will do me. I am buying it for its looks (but am thinking of learning to dive, but even then 120 metres is probably plenty)

The original is less than collectable.

Thanks Cellar - I am not a fan of that one big brand that starts with an R, but I believe it can be argued to be "the original" Bond watch as 007 used one in his first real appearance in Dr. No :-)

You traded a Portuguese Automatic and a Cousteau for that? No regrets??
