Great picture book of PT watches. I aspire to own them all....but will probably happily settle for their steel brethren.

Oh Shing - this brings tears to my eyes!

I had the PT on my wrist at SIHH and the words "Heavy Metal" took on a whole different meaning for me since!

I like them all - the Grand Compilation is thebone that does it for me though ...

    Fun Parade,

I have to confess a personal weakness for platinum despite the environmental and sustainability arguments against mining the stuff. Apparently between 7.7 and 13 tons of ore must be processed to produce one ounce of metal. High levels of dioxins are released in that process. Half of the annual production of platinum goes into automobile catalytic converters. Unlike steel, it won't tarnish and its antimagnetic qualities make it a perfect case for a Pilot's watch ;-)

Shing - a fantastic study in exotic beauty, but I am surprised that you missed the most beautiful there is:

    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/IMG_3656.jpg

I had the pleasure of strapping this on in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, I wish I was a millionaire - I guess I have to wake up and realize such un-affordable beauty will never be mine:
    i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h341/Skule/IMG_3658.jpg

Ben, the most helpful sales manager at the IWC store at the Pallazzo hotel told me I was the first one to ask to see this platinum piece of art in over a year - what a pity!

    absolutely sensational :)

I must rectify this defect immediately. I have only tried on the RG and WG ones. POST EDIT: ok, I omitted one pic (re-inserted just) -- but certainly I am in need of a wrist shot !!!

Dragon 5001 is in town - I saw it during lunch today briefly, and it is very different from the other 5001s. will do a sitting with it tomorrow if time permits.

Hi Yohji3, unfortunately I only have the white gold version. But they do look alike don't they ? this WG one apparently comes in 50 or 30 pcs...

This has become one of my favourite posts in a long time. Even if most of them require a wallet (or bank account) thicker than most of us have - it does not stop us from enjoying seeing such beauties.

How many other companies can present such diversity in Platinum Perfection?
